My waterpump on my MF1040 has gone out. Iam told that this has a Toyosha engine, Hinomoto built them for John Deere & Allis-Chalmers also MF. It is a 3 cyl diesel. The tractor is MF1040 Series 2969, SN00497. Does anyone know what the part # for this is?? Does anybody know where one can be bought for a good price? Thanks in advance for any help.

This is one of the down falls of buying a MF. If I am not mistaken; you will be required to go through your MF dealer for the part. Hopefully, they can get you going for a fair price. ....

You probably know that MF became part of AGCO. I believe that existing MF dealers had the option of buying into the entire line and becoming an AGCO shop or continuing as MF dealers. There are both AGCO and MF dealers in my area, but I think that MF dealers would use the AGCO parts system and that's where I would start. A dealer that kept the MF name might have more interest in supporting the tractor though. The main AGCO dealer here used to be a White dealer. Hard to know the companies without a program these days ....

Chief, I would assume that all the manufacturers have a downfall on parts like a water pump? I haven't seen any type of aftermarket parts for any of these tractors yet for you to maybe save by. ....

Perhaps it is a regional thing. In my area I had to look high and low for a MF dealer and the 2 dealers I found were very small operations that did not have much in the way of support service or stock. I agree with you about having to buy it through a dealer no matter the color in most cases. ....
